Why is it my hair looks great when I just get up in the morning?

Why is it my hair looks like a runway model's when I grab a clip and wrap it up in the clip at work, mirror-less?

Why is it my hair looks great the day after I've washed it?

Why is it my hair looks great when I am having a "play day?"

Why is it when I NEED my hair to look great, stand in front of the mirror all day trying to make my hair look great, I am in the midst of a 'bad hair day?'
